Nestart bases its upcycling process on a strong foundation. We use a huge sheet of iron, measuring 1500x3000 mm and thickness ranging from 1.5 to 20 mm. This sheet is precisely cut and shaped with a laser to create mechanical components and metal carpentry. This serves Bordoni Bonfiglio, the parent company, which meets the needs of customers in the construction, lifting equipment, and agricultural mechanics sectors. At the end of this process, the iron slab is perforated and becomes scrap metal. The raw materials create a pattern of solids and voids, giving life to our unique products.

And this is where Nestart makes a difference. The challenge is to convert this raw material, considered waste, into valuable works of art. The goal is to enhance it, give it new life and a different meaning through a new design. From objects destined to be forgotten, unique and fascinating interiors emerge.

In addition to the artistic aspect, Nestart also focuses on efficiency. The sheet of iron, initially destined for melting, is 100% reused. This process recycles tens of tons of metal every year, reducing the CO2 emissions associated with traditional melting. For every ton of Nestart product, a saving of 2.16 tons of CO2 is achieved, thus helping to create a circular economy and waste reduction.

Nestart uses SSAB, a certified high-quality steel, which means that the objects they create are practically indestructible. They maintain their value over time and have a very long, if not eternal, life cycle. Furthermore, the SSAB company is at the forefront in the fight against climate change, committed to producing steel using renewable energy and hydrogen, without the use of fossil fuels.
