The Enigmist is in the office: a corner of surface for thinking and designing. Nestart's desk is a steel puzzle, supported by three geometric structures. Its composite materials create elegant and precisely cut orthogonal lines, exuding an industrial style. The solidity of its forms is derived from the high-quality carbon steel produced by the Swedish steelworks SSAB, as well as from reclaimed industrial materials such as steel, iron, and aluminum, shaped by laser cutting.
Laser-cut and reassembled, the desk's surface is adorned with movable inlays, intricately laser-carved. The color chosen for these inlays is Prussian Blue, inspired by the corporate identity of the Italian branch of SSAB, who commissioned the work. The goal is to convey the company's energy and stability through shapes and colors. Nestart opted for a soft finish on the desk, balancing the forces: soft-touch on the inlays, hot lamination, and pickling on the raw surfaces.
The "Enigmist" desk can be disassembled, transported, and repositioned in any other environment. It symbolizes a harmonious blend of aesthetics, functionality, and environmental responsibility, reflecting the transformation of reclaimed materials into a versatile and visually appealing piece of furniture.
