The Rebell table, winner of the Independent Art & Design Contest 2019, is the first piece produced by Nestart. Within its perimeter, the philosophy of recycling and reusing is encapsulated; the idea of sustainability embodied in a common-use object. This table declares, for the first time, that an alternative to scrapping and melting in furnaces is possible. It is the material equivalent of Silvio's initial intuition.
The tiles that fill the empty spaces are sealed onto the table with a high-resistance adhesive. The profiles of the shapes - from which mechanical components used for entirely different purposes are derived - harmonize, giving a sense of tranquility. The scraps discarded from the production process are recycled, reworking an ancient Rolese tradition dating back to the 18th century: tarsia or the art of intarsia, here applied to metal. In this way, not only does the waste become a defining element.
